The Beenleigh State Primary School community supports the wearing of a school uniform and a student dress code in accordance with Department of Education policy SMS-PR-022: Student Dress Code. This reflects the school community standards and is consistent with occupational health and safety and anti-discrimination legislation.

Students attending Beenleigh State Primary are expected to wear the appropriate school uniform, take pride in their appearance and follow the school dress code unless an exemption has been granted by the Principal. Participation in school sport, music performances and school excursions requires students to wear the appropriate school uniform. The school uniform aims to contribute to a safe and supportive teaching and learning environment through:

  • ready identification of students and non-students at school
  • fostering a sense of belonging
  • developing mutual respect among students by minimising visible evidence of economic or social differences.

Beenleigh State Primary provides a copy of the Student Dress Code as part of the Enrolment Package. The student dress code is an agreed standard of dress and specifies the items of clothing students wear when:

  • attending or representing their school
  • travelling to and from school
  • engaging in school activities out of school hours.
For consistency, uniforms available at the uniform shop are preferable.
